Starting with a SOLO AD

Knowing how to start any new business is always going to be a massive problem, even for those talented individuals who have the experience gained from previous start-ups.
I'll come straight to the point by saying that the internet now provides the means for anyone to make money if desire and discipline  –  along with other attributes  –  feature strongly in their mindset.
Search engines are the first port of call these days for people to find information relating to anything which is of interest to them. A large percentage of this information is supplied by online marketers who see the profitability of specific niche products.
In the not too distant past, writers who couldn't find a publisher often resorted to 'Vanity Publishing.' This was very expensive because the writers had to pay all the costs of the production and sales of the books. The internet has virtually consigned this practice to history.
This article is meant to provide a basic 'route map' to achieve profit from Online Information Publishing. The following requirements and comments etc. should be helpful.

Equipment needed.
A computer with a broadband connection is a must. A few peripherals such as a printer might prove useful as would a video camera in order to exploit this popular media.
A desk or table-top located in a convenient work area is an obvious requirement.
Perhaps these items should not be regarded as specific for an online business since these days they are a common part of most households and are used in many different ways by family members.

The Initial Objective.
This must be to prove to yourself that Online Information Publishing is a viable way to make money. This must be effected in as 'non labour intensive' a way as possible  –  and QUICKLY!
To get quick results it won't be feasible to spend time creating a  product  –  even if it is outsourced  –  and by the same token the time can't be afforded to build a website; get a domain name and hosting for the website.
Another important point is the lack of an email list. A list can't be built overnight but is an essential part of the business model which will be outlined here.
The above paragraphs sounds very negative; so what can be done in a positive fashion to get a QUICK result?

Promote a product as an AFFILIATE.
An affiliate is simply someone who sends visitors to a product owner's sales page. The visitor may be so impressed by what he or she reads that a sale may result. If this happens the affiliate earns a commission.
The vendor has had to do the major work by producing the product and putting together the complete marketing strategy.
An affiliate who is new to Internet Marketing and Information Publishing has to master the art of 'Traffic Generation.'
Further down the line, when an affiliate has his own website he will have a platform from which to market his own products and build his own lists. But for now think of this as a future strategy when more experienced.

Step by step actions for this strategy.
  • Do an in depth research of the market place to find a niche product which is being searched for by at least 1000 people per month. It doesn't have to relate to a subject with which you are familiar but it does help because you are going to have to make your own assessment as to the product's value to a purchaser.
  • Get an affiliate link for the product so that you can promote it and get commissions for sales made.
  • Purchase the product in order to assess its worth. Most products are sold with with at least a 30 day cooling off period so if it does not come up to expectations, get your money back and look for a more suitable product.
  • Find a marketer who has a list in the group into which your niche product falls and who sends out emails on behalf of others to this list. Look for marketers with lists of people who habitually purchase. This will comprise what is known as 'quality traffic.'
  • Write an email which includes your affiliate link and send it to the marketer when you purchase 'clicks' from him/her. The email will be sent out by the marketer to this number of people on a specific date.

...and finally

Check for the results of this SOLO ADS strategy which has originally been to test its viability as a marketing tool. If a profit is made refine and repeat the process.

Think and Grow Rich

'Think and Grow Rich' by the great business philosopher Napoleon Hill, was first published in 1937. At least 20 million copies have been sold and 70 years after this date it was rated number 6 in Business Week Magazine's Best Selling List. This shows that the secrets of achievement are today, still highly sought after, by those with entrepreneurial ambitions.
This fact acted like a magnet to my psyche for in early 2008 I decided that I was going to make my fortune as an Information Publisher and despite subjectively regarding myself as mega-talented, my instinct told me that this tome could seriously shorten my path to business success.
I was not to be disappointed. Using the phenomenal power of the internet I sourced a downloadable copy and shelled out some of my hard earned cash. No, I've not achieved super tax status yet, but I can honestly say that 'Think and Grow Rich' is fuelling my drive to an attainable goal.
It is my ever present companion. I must have read it cover to cover at least a dozen times and when I feel that the flow of my work rate or creative inspiration is in gridlock, I read an appropriate chapter which usually has the effect of putting me back on the critical path to success.
So what is so magic about this book that I should hold it in such high esteem? Primarily it starts with the author himself. Here was a man who rubbed shoulders with the great men of his time. Napoleon Hill was an original thinker who strove to find the answer to what makes some successful but condemns others to failure.
A defining moment in his life was when he met the great Scottish American industrialist Andrew Carnegie who encouraged him to interview people who had already achieved success. The answers he sought must then surely become apparent. This is not meant to be a history lesson but household names such as Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell and Henry Ford were amongst the interviewees. Napoleon was also an advisor to Presidents Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson.
I consider the book to be an indispensable business intelligence tool. All businesses have specific requirements but despite business diversity, proprietors and managers must all come basically from the same mould and thus have similar characteristics with respect to mental capabilities.
Desire, persistence, imagination; an ability to plan and make decisions; to operate without fear and not to look for excuses, these all merit separate chapters in 'Think and Grow Rich.'
A point worthy of emphasis is that this publication is not exclusively aimed at those wishing for monetary achievement but it's teachings also have value for those whose primary objective is to improve their quality of life.
I like a good read; I like a good 'rags to riches' story and here I am not disappointed. 'Think and Grow Rich' relates many such anecdotes and it is worth mention that most illustrate how success came despite the lack of 'silver spoons.' The underlying message is that everything starts with an idea; a thought. The book states 16 laws of success condensed into 13 principles.
In conclusion I would encourage you to get a copy of this fabulous book and use its teachings as your own personal success formula.

Affiliate Commissions without a Website

Trying to be a successful Internet Marketer is very difficult when considering the vast amount of in formation that needs digesting. What isn't needed is for unwanted obstacles to be put in our way but unfortunately they are  —  not occasionally but practically all the time.
This is invariably because of interference from third parties; particularly those known as hackers.
Out there in cyberspace reside some massive brains and hackers are an example of these.

Why do Hackers interfere with a person's work?
The simplest explanation is that they have the knowledge to do it and they need somewhere to practice their craft.
More often it would seem that they want to make money by advertising affiliate products on websites belonging to others and thus denying the website owners the commissions.

Governments and Corporate Bodies
The internet is being used today as a useful tool by governments to spy on their foreign counterparts and by corporations to keep track of what rivals are doing.
And in the social media so-called celebrities often complain about their private emails being accessed.
To make such things happen these massive brains can find themselves in much demand and can thus command big fees and salaries.
I am assuming that what I've just said is right and logically I'm convinced it must be.

New to Internet Marketing?
These are among those who are ripe for exploitation  —  especially those who have their own websites and who are hoping to create and sell their own products. Such sites  —  especially if they are getting a lot of hits  —  will provide potential vehicles in which hackers can operate or practise their craft.
Whatever the case it creates problems for which the newbie is totally ill-equipped!

Starting an Internet Marketing Business
Anyone without a blog or website is far less likely to be targeted by parties with dubious agendas, so from the outset it is advisable to look for different ways to get an on-line profile which effectively dispenses with having to build your own site.
Marketers who are creative and have a product or products to sell, will need a website to do this; but an easier way is to sell others' products as an affiliate.
The first step is find those whose efforts can be learned from and copied.

Finding successful marketers
Although there are many people who make a good living selling information products in the Internet Marketing niche, there are only a handful who go beyond merely churning out the same tired old information ad nauseum.
Before spending big money on a marketer's products do a lot of research into what makes the marketer special. What sets him or her apart from other mentors/trainers?
By studying a marketer's FREE products a potentially new marketer can usually identify specific skills which a mentor possesses.
Always keep in mind that the aim is to make money from what is taught!

What to look for in a top mentor
The following are some major considerations which influence and have influenced my selection of mentors in the Internet Marketing niche.

  • Teachers of video marketing techniques. My favourite way of absorbing information.
  • Multiple products which over-deliver on content. Look for information which lesser mentors just gloss over!
  • A Sales Funnel with affiliate commissions on all products. The marketer should provide links which track the commission payments back to the affiliate.
  • Precise details of how to get traffic to a product. There are many different ways to do this, but I would recommend spending some money on a proven 'paid traffic' technique to kick start your business. A good mentor will point a newbie marketer in the right direction.
  • Regular Q and A sessions.
  • Video and audio interviews with successful teachers or entrepreneurs which explain their business models.
  • Frequent webinars/seminars.
  • Easy access to popular resources. FREE website hosting packages and various templates should be readily through a top class mentor.

The best mentors will supply the above and usually much, much more but it must always be remembered that affiliates are traffic generators.
Affiliate Marketing is the simplest way to start an Internet Marketing business without undue interference and hastle from third parties.
